Parent Participation Organization (PPO) The goal of the Parent Participation Organization (PPO) is to support our school by raising funds for worthwhile causes such as scholarships, Student Support Centre ( E-100), sports, and student activities and materials. In addition to organizing the Annual Artisan Craft Sale, the PPO contributes to the success of Open House, Academic Awards, and teacher appreciation. Graduation Requirements As per the Ministry of Education, the requirements for obtaining a Secondary School Diploma (SSD) in general education in the youth sector are the following: The four requirements to get a Secondary School Diploma: Students must have a total of 54 credits 20 of these credits must be from Secondary 5 courses Students must pass the following Secondary IV classes: -History (4 credits) -Arts (2 credits) -Science and Technology (4 credits) -Mathematics (4 or 6 credits) -*-English (6 credits) -*French (4 or 6 credits) -*CCQ or Physical Education (2 credits) *Students must successfully pass a course to move onto the course's next level. Student Life Student Life Union The Student Life Union is a committee comprised of one chosen student per class. The student life union meets once a cycle and brings forth ideas and suggestions that are given to them by their peers. Student Council The Student Council is the executive committee of the Student Life Union. Five Members per grade are chosen from student life union members. The student life union meets once a cycle and brings forth ideas and suggestions that are given to them by their peers. There is a vote and the Student Council decides what they would like to bring to our staff council. The goal is to continue making improvements and changes to the experience here at Centennial.
