Facilities Athletic Facilities Centennial has a large gymnasium, which can divide into 4 separate facilities. We have a newly renovated fully equipped weight room, 1 spinning room / judo room. We also have in partnership with the Ville de Longueuil, three soccer fields and one track which are located at the back of the school. Auditorium We have an auditorium in which we hold all our yearly production of Follies, Music Show, Junior Play, Senior Play, and assemblies with a seating capacity of 470. French Immersion Program Centennial Regional High School is pleased to offer students various levels of French in order to meet the needs of each student. Programme d’immersion française: Ce programme d’immersion permet à l’élève de poursuivre, dans un environnement francophone authentique, son apprentissage et sa maitrise de la langue française dans différents cours rencontrant les mêmes compétences et exigences du Ministère de l’Éducation. Tout comme l’élève dans le système francophone, votre enfant suivra le cours de français langue d’enseignement. De plus, il étudiera l’histoire, la géographie, les sciences et la littérature en français. (15 périodes par cycle de 9 jours de cours en français, soit 42% de son horaire) Other French Programs: French Second Language Programs Regular Program: This program helps students get the necessary base needed to function in French. Through a number of short texts and discussion topics, students will cover basic verbs, vocabulary, and sentence structure to be able to communicate in French. Enriched Program: This program gives students who are fluent in French an opportunity to improve their writing skills and enrich their vocabulary. Students explore a variety of novels and authentic materials. Grammar rules are introduced regularly and studied at length. «Français langue d’enseignement» Course for TaG students This program follows the curriculum offered in French schools, providing a thorough and comprehensive study of the language. (6 periods of French over 9 days, 17% of the schedule)

Governing Board Established by the MELS Education Act, our governing board meets monthly to discuss issues related to the school's Educational Project as well as general items, educational services, community services, and physical and financial resources. The Governing Board makes decisions that are deemed to be in the best interest of our students. The board is composed of students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community representatives. Eight parents sit on the CRHS Governing Board, each for a two-year term. Four parents’ terms expire each year, requiring the election of four parent members on an annual basis. To be eligible, you must be the parent of a child attending CRHS. Parents who are interested in active involvement in the life of the school are encouraged to run for election in September. ​

Graduation Requirements Certification Requirements for Students Currently in Cycle II, Year III (Secondary V) The Ministière de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport (MELS) will award a Secondary School Diploma to students who have accumulated 54 credits in Cycle II, Year II & III (Secondary IV and V), twenty of which must be from Cycle II, Year III (Secondary V) level courses. The following courses must also be taken and passed: 20 credits at the Cycle II, Year III (Sec. V) level; 6 credits in Cycle II, Year III (Sec. V) English Language Arts; 4 or 6 credits in Cycle II, Year III (Sec. V) French Second Language; 4 credits in Cycle II, Year II (Sec. IV) History & Citizenship; 4 or 6 credits in Cycle II, Year II (Sec. IV) Science & Technology; 4 or 6 credits in Cycle II, Year II (Sec. IV) Mathematics; 2 credits in Cycle II, Year II (Sec. IV) Arts Compulsory; 2 credits in Cycle II, Year III (Sec. V) Ethics & Religious Cultures or Physical Education & Health.

Arts Visual Arts: Students at Centennial enjoy access to many visual arts activities and events such as Urban Art crew, mural wall painting, and the ArtWorks festival. Centennial's Urban Art Crew is a group of graffiti artists and other artists (with a unique artistic style) that are into urban art (it's more than just graffiti) . They paint murals and canvases. They get to work with a professional artist. ArtWorks Festival promotes careers in all Art disciplines to senior students (especially grade 10). Students get to interact with professional artists through workshops (Dancers, actors, painters, DJ's, etc.). "Color Me Happy" is CRHS art club; selected artists get together to work on various art projects (murals, cards, posters, etc). Performing Arts: JUNIOR PLAY The CRHS Junior Play is performed in March by our talented students in Secondary 1, 2 and 3. An original production written by Ms. Lesley Webb and directed by Ms. Lesley Webb and Ms. Debbie Edayanjilil, it is always a crowd-pleaser! SENIOR PLAY We have wrapped up the 2017 Senior Play: 21 and the audience loved it! Well done to our Sec. 4 & 5 actors and to Ms. Joyce, Ms. Marriott and Mr. Jude. Music: The music program at Centennial Regional High School offers students the opportunity to select an instrument and learn how to play music. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced level player, all students will have the opportunity to learn how to play and develop their skill level throughout their high school experience. Our music program has something for everyone. These options include: Concert and jazz band where students can play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument; The pop/rock stream which includes guitar, bass, piano, drums, and vocals; Electronic music where students will learn the development of digital sound using circuitry based music software and technology; Students can also choose to participate in Vocal Instruction Tech, where they will receive coaching and learn proper singing, breathing, and harmonizing technique. ​ Not only will music students learn how to play, but also how to express themselves through music. They’ll learn how to read music notation as well as the rudiments of music theory and ear training. Class time is spent developing their playing skills and working towards the end-of-year concert where they get to showcase their talent and hard work for family and friends to see. In addition to the end-of-year music show, beginner-level and advanced students have many opportunities to perform outside of class time through various school shows and extracurricular activities. This includes out-of-school competitions like Glee Club, MusicFest and community performances, for those who choose to participate. My door is always open at lunchtime for students who wish to practice, form bands, get additional instruction, or for those who are simply looking for a safe, fun, and friendly environment to spend their lunch hour. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends and to learn a skill to carry with you forever. Everyone is welcome! Student Life Student Life Union The Student Life Union is a committee comprised of one chosen student per class. The student life union meets once a cycle and brings forth ideas and suggestions that are given to them by their peers. Student Council The Student Council is the executive committee of the Student Life Union. Five Members per grade are chosen from student life union members. The student life union meets once a cycle and brings forth ideas and suggestions that are given to them by their peers. There is a vote and the Student Council decides what they would like to bring to our staff council. The goal is to continue making improvements and changes to the experience here at Centennial.
