Music
The music program at Centennial Regional High School uses the concert band as the main method of instruction. Our music students choose a brass or woodwind instrument, or percussion, which they study throughout their high school music careers. In learning a new instrument, they learn the rudiments of musical language. Class time is spent developing skills on these instruments and rehearsing concert band music so that they might perform for the school, their family, and their friends! Our students also study music theory and do ear-training with the use of state-of-the-art software and technology.
CRHS is proud to offer many opportunities for students to pursue music outside of class time. The results of these activities can be seen at the annual music show in April! In addition to performances from all of the class concert bands, you can witness the CRHS Jazz, a big band that specializes in the swing style. There are spots in the line-up for students who gravitate towards rock music, who can form their own bands and rehearse at lunch in the music area. If a student is interested in preparing a vocal piece for the show, accompanists can be found and coaching sessions can be scheduled. If you would like to see and hear what our school has to offer, check out Centennial Regional High School’s YouTube channel, where performances from last year's Music Show 2016: At the Drive-In! is posted.
